The event has been built in such a way that it minimizes the impact on the environment and we are very proud of this. We asked Riccardo to paint two works inspired by the two novelties with paints that purify the air, so for this event we enjoy clean air like a forest thanks to Riccardo's paintings present in the interior spaces. We are also attentive to these new sustainability projects included in the Yves Saint Laurent Beauté events.

Riccardo was inspired by the elegance, intensity and sophistication of YSL to paint two custom paintings.

Riccardo painted during the event performing the mesmerizing performance under the lights and eyes of all the guests at the event, thus completing the paintings which are now the exclusive property of Yves Saint Laurent.

The prestigious works began to breathe and come to life on March 7, 2023, giving health, well-being and beauty to its owner.

Riccardo Berghella (Milan 1988), is a groundbreaking artist who creates paintings that are not only good for soul, but also for one’s health. With the revolutionary technology used in each painting the air is purified, making interior spaces healthier. This philosophy has lead Berghella and his Green Concept to pursue the dream of an eco-sustainable world immersed in elegance, beauty and a healthier lifestyle. Berghella carefully chooses where to exhibit his paintings in venues that share this cutting-edge philosophy of both wellbeing and spiritual luxury.

ELEGANT ABSTRACT COMPOSITION

The Italian artist Riccardo Berghella donated a number of his paintings

to St. Moritz. Abstract paintings are the result of an innovative design process

and sophisticated colors.

The prestigious Kempinski Grand Hotel des Bains, the visit to St. Moritz alone is already worth it, five stars Hotel marries Riccardo's philosophy by hosting 21 of his paintings. Guests admire the works of Riccardo Berghella every day, but also external art lovers can admire the paintings located in the lobby, in the bar, in the corridors, in a quiet environment immersed in the beauty of design and nature.

The 21 works are the result of 3 years of planning, and each composition is to be discovered. The predominantly square paintings of 1 meter and above hide meanings regarding the human condition and nature. Riccardo Berghella studied at Design Politecnico Milano and is well known In the country's advertising agencies.

In recent years he has always been attracted from painting, in particular for abstractionism which allows him infinite creativity of shapes and colors in close contact with his emotions.

Influenced by Italian design aesthetics his paintings are the fusion between elegance and his inner reality. Elegance that immediately catches the eye among visitors who get lost in the brushstrokes of color and non-color, such as beige, various shades of gray and warm colors that mix with cold ones. All this inspired by the artist's travels and experiences around the world, such as Abstract N.1, after several trips to Brazil, the music, the colors and the energy of Latin America are grafted into DNA of the artist and express themselves in this work that pays homage to the landscapes and colors of the earth.

Abstract N.29: From Hurghada to Marrakech, the pastel colors of the sands and sky brought me into a meditative state.

In this work, all the vastness of those horizons is conveyed with extreme lightness. the material part: the earth, and the spiritual part: the sky, come together to create a great space of stillness. Up to paintings with colder color tones such as Abstract N.42: in the autumns of Milan, everything loses saturation, bringing your mind into a state of reflection. On the surface everything stands still in time, but beyond the fog, life inside the gray buildings breaks the daily lethargy.

The elements of nature such as wind and water are a source of inspiration to play between static and dynamic compositions. The fear of the human condition explodes in Abstract N. 22 where he expresses The concept of the human mind: the man lives in a box built by himself. White is one of the protagonists of this painting, which symbolizes the ability to imagine a reality much wider than that of the mind: the reality of the heart and the present moment. Riccardo shows his deep bond with each work by experimenting with many techniques, in Abstract N. 88 Every mark on this painting was done with the artist's fingers. The final result evokes a living and changing surface. The base of the painting is completely silver and the color of the painting changes according to the point of view. It's a living and breathing painting; maybe

a symbolic image for the flux of the life?

Innovative technology

All paintings are made with Airlite® paint, a revolutionary technology based on natural materials which, activated by light, reduces pollutants in the air (nitrogen oxides, formaldehyde, acetaldehyde, methylene chloride, benzene), fights bacteria and reduces odors by making the most hygienic and healthy interior spaces.
